Dealing with substance use can be frightening and overwhelming. Whether you have a loved one facing challenges, or you’re worried about your own substance use, know you are not alone. Pinnacle has programs to help.
Employee Assistance Program
Lyra Renew is a substance use recovery program offered by the company’s EAP provider, Lyra Health. The program is a virtual blended care program designed to help members with substance use issues, including alcohol, opioids, nicotine, stimulants and cannabis. The program offers:
- Screening and progress tracking
- Individual therapy
- Peer group and unique digital lessons
- Weekly check-ins with support
- Medication
- Care and resources for the entire family
Optum Substance Use Helpline
Employees who are covered by the Pinnacle medical plan are eligible to get help from the Optum Substance Use Helpline.
- The helpline is anonymous, confidential and always available.
- It’s staffed by licensed recovery advocates who will talk with you about your concerns and needs.
- The recovery advocate will educate and guide you and can refer you to a substance use treatment professional who will develop a treatment plan.
Treatment plans may include:
- Detoxification
- Local, short-term, intensive residential treatment
- Medication-assisted treatment
- Intensive outpatient treatment
- Individual substance use counseling
- Group therapy
Treatment program coverage is part of behavioral care under your medical plan.

Substance Use HelplineQuit (Smoking) for Life
Quit for Life is a five-step smoking cessation program through Rally that can help you learn to live without tobacco.
- Participants work with a Quit Coach to develop a plan to quit, along with help dealing with cravings.
- This may include quit-smoking medications and over-the-counter aids like nicotine replacement patches or gum.
- Participants receive a comprehensive booklet that breaks down the five steps to quitting.
