Vision Coverage

Kiewit’s health care benefits include the option to purchase routine vision coverage. You can enroll yourself and/or your family in the vision plan or decline coverage. The vision insurance provider is Vision Service Plan (VSP).

Employees can make changes or additions only within their first 31 days of employment, during open enrollment or because of a qualified status change.

VSP Vision Plan

The VSP Plan includes:

  • One eye exam each calendar year
  • Glasses or contacts (up to the retail allowance)
  • Prescription safety glasses available at additional cost (employees only)

VSP is a paperless company and does not issue ID cards. In-network providers will verify your coverage using your date of birth and the last four digits of your social security number.


VSP Kids Care Program

The VSP Kids Care Plan is for dependent children under the age of 19 and includes:

  • Two, fully covered comprehensive eye exams each calendar year that test for eye health and vision problems that can begin during childhood, including nearsightedness, amblyopia (lazy eye), and strabismus (cross-eye)
  • Frames and lenses fully covered up to your current retail allowance, including child-friendly, impact-resistant lenses
  • Additional lenses fully covered when needed
  • Up to 20% savings on amount above the retail allowance
  • Savings on additional pairs of prescription glasses
  • Free repair and/or replacement
